Declutter your mind for a Healthy and Happy Life…

In the current era of Big Data most of the time we are surrounded with humongous amount of information. Some of this information is highly critical for us but most of the data is completely waste and is not relevant for us. And unfortunately, we are completely unaware of the fact that the irrelevant content in which we are investing our time may influence us negatively.

According to a recent research, each person spend on average 5-6 hours each day in watching news, videos on TV & mobile and spending significant time on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram etc. Going through immaterial content generates anonymous negativity in our brain and keep accumulating in our subconscious mind in the form of unpleasant feelings such as fear, sorrow, jealousy and restlessness.

This is an era where we should be very careful in choosing what we want to read, listen and watch. We also need to be highly conscious about the kind of content around which we spend our time. Today, we have easy accessibility to huge variety of news, web content etc. which may also put a big impact on our mind. According to various studies, slowly and gradually we start thinking and processing the similar kind of thoughts which surround us. These thoughts start influencing our decision making process and ultimately start impacting our social and professional life. Someone has very rightly said that “we become what we read and watch”.

Hence, it is extremely important to understand what kind of content or information is good for our mind and health. We can declutter our mind by ignoring extraneous data and concentrating only on relevant information.

Small Changes Lead to Big Impact…

All of us want to make positive changes in our lives. We plan to inculcate various positive habits in our lifestyle such as walking 3-4 miles per day, hitting gym for 1 hour, eating healthy food throughout the day, spending less money on all the irrelevant expenditures etc. and we try really hard to succeed in this. But unfortunately we are not able to carry this routine for a longer duration of time and just end up doing for a couple of days. So what’s the best way to succeed in our plans so that we can make these activities a part of our day to day life.

First of all, we should find a very solid quantifiable reason why we want to do this activity in our life such as loosing 10kg weight, saving 1 million dollars or starting your own business within 2-3 years. In addition, this motivating factor should align with our principles.

Secondly, we need to take micro steps initially to convert them into big leap. Once we take a small step and keep adding into that we cover a big distance. For example, if we want to make good eating habits we can target to focus on our diet for next 7 days and may be one meal at a time and then slowly and gradually we can increase to follow the diet pattern for all the meals and for a longer duration. In this way, we can reduce desired weight and get fit within a stipulated time period which looked impossible earlier.

Similarly, we can build several positive habits and remove unconstructive negative habits from our life by taking baby steps which transform our overall perspective towards life and put a huge positive impact on our health, wealth and happiness.
